MUSEUM LUTOV HOUSE
The Lute House impresses with its architecture. Built in 1854 by Plovdiv craftsmen for the Koprivshtene Stefan Topalov, it has richly painted walls and beautifully carved ceilings. In 1906 the house was sold to the merchant Petko Lyutov – hence the name by which it is known today. The ground floor of the house houses a permanent exhibition of stuffed animals – non-woven colourful mats made of wool. The mats were used for covering floors and as a comfortable thick bedding for sleeping. They are produced at home by specific methods of rolling and pressing. They are decorated with wool dyed with natural dyes.
MUSEUM OF TODOR KABLESHKOV
The house, where the author of The Blood Letter was born in 1851, is among the examples of Bulgarian Renaissance architecture. Built in 1845 by the Koprivshtchen master Gencho Mladenov, it is distinguished by symmetry, beautiful forms and a spacious glazed hall on the second floor. Todor Kableshkov – the chairman of the secret revolutionary committee in Koprivshtitsa – grew up in this house. The man who, on April 20, 1876, announced the April Uprising. Under his leadership, the conak was captured and the Bulgarian flag flew from its roof. After the defeat of the uprising Todor Kableshkov was captured near the village of. Chiflik and on 17.06.1876 committed suicide in Gabrovo Konak.
MUSEUM OF LUBEN KARAVELOV
A cobbled path leads from the gate to a picturesque courtyard nestled between 3 houses. Built by local craftsmen over a period of 25 years, they form an interesting architectural ensemble. The oldest building, built in 1810, is the “winter house”. Lyuben and Petko Karavelov were born there. Both of them remain in history as personalities who vowed their lives to Bulgaria. Lyuben Karavelov as a publicist, journalist, revolutionary and writer, and Petko Karavelov as a politician – Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. There the famous Koprivshtenska sudzhuts and lucanca were prepared. In addition to revolutionary newspapers printed by Karavelov, Botev and Levski, the first Bulgarian constitution – the Tarnovo Constitution – was printed on it after the Liberation.
HOUSE MUSEUM - GEORGI BENKOVSKI
In the upright wooden house surrounded by greenery and flowers, located on one of the hills of the town. Koprivshtitsa, in 1843 Gavril Hlatev was born. He remains in Bulgarian history with the name Georgi Benkovski – a pseudonym he used as the organizer and leader of the April Uprising. Near the birthplace of Georgi Benkovski is an impressive monument to the apostle in terms of size and architecture. Situated on a beautiful meadow, in front of a dense pine forest – a place from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the town. Koprivshtitsa.
DIMCHO DEBELYANOV MUSEUM
The birthplace of Dimcho Deblyanov keeps to this day the magic flowing from the poetry of the most tender Bulgarian poet.As soon as one steps through the wooden gate, one falls into a picturesque courtyard with centuries-old pines and lush cherry trees.
Nestled among the greenery and the scent of flowers is a wooden house with deep blue walls. The beauty of his native home and city remained in the poet’s soul until his final hour. Dimcho Debelyanov’s emotion-filled life – poetry ends tragically. On 02.10.1916 he died at the front near Demir Hisar.
